The training follows the “driving school law” (247/2000 Sb.). It includes theoretical as well as practical training and completely prepares you for both the exams and real traffic conditions.
Theoretical training
Theoretical teaching takes place either in the form of a course with regular attendance at lectures or in the form of so-called distance learning. If you opt for distance learning, you’ll get an individual study plan. You’ll then prepare on your own and undergo mandatory consultations with your teacher from time to time.
Areas of focus
- vehicle operation regulations
- driving theory and principles of safe driving
- first-aid training
Practical training
The most extensive part of the training is practice - i.e. the driving itself and other related topics. Its length depends on the statutory minimum of hours, the intensity of training, and your preferences.
Areas of focus
- vehicle driving training
- hands-on maintenance training
- practical first-aid training
Course length
The length of the course depends on a number of factors, especially the number of hours required by law. The usual length of courses for group B is 2-3 months. If you prefer, it is also possible to provide an intensive course, where the training time can be significantly shortened.
Finishing the course
Your training can be finalized if you fulfill these requirements stated by law:
- you have the necessary knowledge and skills to take the final exam
- you have undergone the minimum number of training hours required by law (for group B, this constitutes 11 lessons (45 minutes each) of theory and 34 lessons (45 minutes each) of practice)
It is therefore not possible to complete fewer hours than stipulated by law. You can, however, request additional lessons in order to acquire the necessary skills. This must be agreed individually with the driving school.
Practical training stages
The training is divided into 3 stages:
Stage 1
- performing a vehicle inspection before driving
- basic driver operations before starting to drive
- training and mastering the basic driving skills necessary to operate a vehicle
Stage 2
- practicing acquired basic driving skills in urban and extra-urban traffic with low traffic density
- emphasis on compliance with road traffic regulations and safe driving principles
- driving at higher speeds
- training and mastering other driving skills in various situations in traffic
- control of vehicle equipment and fittings, such as windscreen wipers and washers, demisting, air conditioning, or vehicle
- lighting, for its safe operation
- driving in reduced visibility
Stage 3
- achieving full autonomy in driving in heavy urban and extra-urban traffic
- driving on different categories of roads
- driving in difficult conditions
- solving complex traffic conditions and traffic situations
- driving in reduced visibility
